Walk Into Your Season

Updated: Aug 21, 2020

Scripture(s): I will bless my people and their homes around my holy hill. And in proper season, I will send the flowers they need. There will be showers of blessings. (Ezekiel 34:26 NLT)

For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven…I have seen the burden God has placed on us all. Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time…” (Ecclesiastes 3:1-15)

Song Inspiration: Seasons - Donald Lawrence & Tri-City Singers

Some of you may feel that your life is in complete shambles. Nothing seems to go right, and every time you take two steps forward, you also take five steps back, making your circumstances more difficult than they already were. You may also say, “But God, I’ve been sowing. I’ve been trying this whole faith thing and I can’t seem to get past my current situations. I’ve been waiting for the blessings that you’ve promised me to come to past, but nothing is happening.”

My encouragement for you today is “The wait is over! Just walk into your season.”

With every blog post, my plan is to have some sort of song inspiration, because I’m a musically inclined person, and music is what helps me get through things. You may have noticed that Seasons by Donald Lawrence is today’s inspiration and I believe this song is perfect for the message I am trying to convey. (If you haven’t heard it before, give it a listen.) God sees your efforts. He sees your hard work. He knows your heart, but He never said the walk of faith would be easy.

We all know what a test is: an examination of quality, performance, and/or improvement. Have you ever heard anyone say, “There is no testimony without a test.”? The suffix –mony means many, so before we can receive a blessing from the Lord, we have to go through many tests. But why does He test us? In Deuteronomy 8:2, we are reminded of how God led the Israelites through the wilderness for forty years. The scripture tells us that He did this in order for them to know what was in their hearts and to prove their characters. He did this to see if they would continue to obey his commandments. There will be times when God does the same thing to us. It may not be as long as forty years, but for some of us, we may have already been experiencing hardships and struggles for a long time. All these things are to help build our faith! Will you still trust God when it looks like your life can’t get any worse? Will you continue to trust Him when it seems as though He has forgotten about you? He is testing you to see what you’ll do when it seems like all hope is lost.

But here’s the part I love: We have the power to change our situations and some of us don’t even realize it. The title of this blog post is “Walk Into Your Season”. To me, walking into your season means thanking and praising God as if you have already received your blessing(s) and calling those things which are not as though they were. (Romans 4:17 KJV) God calls things that don’t exist into existence, and because we are His children and were created in His image (Genesis 1:27), we essentially have the power to do the same thing! When times are tough, we need to have confidence that God is going to make a shift in our lives. We have to believe that He will work it out, no matter how impossible it may seem. This is what faith is all about! I love to imagine that while we are going through these tests and trials, God is carefully crafting our unique blessings in the process. Surely, our blessings will come in due season. If we continue to keep the faith, if we continue to obey His word, He will give us the desires of our hearts (and more!). (Psalms 37:4) (Don’t you just love those unexpected blessings? He didn’t have to do it, but He did!)

Just remember: It’s your time for growth. It’s your time of harvest. God has not forgotten about you.

Just keep holding on.

It’s Your Time. The Wait Is Over. Walk Into Your Season…
