It's crazy how life can turn out sometimes. We make these big plans. We have our goals. We have our aspirations. We have all these ideas of what we want our lives to be like, but ultimately, we don't have the final say.
Sometimes, our plans get wrecked. Things fall apart and you know what we tend to do sometimes? We go back to our drawing boards for a Plan B. We try to find solutions or alternatives. For some of us, we may constantly find ourselves in a 2 steps forward, 5 steps backwards situation. But in the midst of everything we’re going through, have we stopped for a second to consider God’s plans? Have we truly let Jesus take the wheel when things become too much?
Personally, I thought I’d be in a totally different stage of my life by now. In 2020, many things that I had planned or hoped for didn’t come to fruition, but I’m learning how to be okay with that. And this post is here to help you do the same.
Let’s chat a little bit about letting God take the lead…
If you’re anything like me, you may have been a little frustrated with God. Maybe you still are. And I get it. It’s hard when your life plan(s) falls through. What’s helped me is remembering that God is still in control and He knows what’s best for me. I also remind myself that if something didn’t work out, then God must have something better! Jeremiah 29:11 says, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
God knows us so well...so much better than we know ourselves. As our creator, He knows the ins, the outs, and the very timeline of our entire lives. His plans are greater than our plans! His ways are higher than our ways! (Isaiah 55:9)
When you’re going through difficult seasons and situations, I want you to remember that God is right there with you. He sees you. And He’s just waiting for you to lean on Him and trust Him. The bible tells us that when we’re brokenhearted, God is near. When our spirits are crushed, He rescues us. (Psalms 34:18) And many times, God will even allow us to go through some things to grab our attention. When we have no other options, God is the solution! He’s the answer! He’s forever in our corner, watching, protecting, and loving us.
We won’t always understand why God does what He does, but we shouldn’t try to grasp it. As we continue to acknowledge Him in all things, He shall direct our paths. (Proverbs 3:5-6) Notice I said ‘in’ all things. In your rough times, in your sadness, in our disappointing moments, in your trials, in whatever you’re going through, acknowledge God! Seek the Lord in prayer! Read and study His Word! Reverence His holy name! And once we do that, there’s no need to worry. The Lord already reassured us that He’d make everything alright. Remember, His promises are Yes and Amen! That means “It Is So!” That means whatever the Lord says is true. When it comes to His promises, having faith is a huge part of receiving! What we see in the natural may make it hard to visualize what the Lord has promised us, but we have to have faith that it’s all a part of His plan.
