More Than Roses (Know Your Worth, Sis!)

When I was brainstorming graphics for the blog series, I knew flowers were a must! Once the seeds are planted, and those flowers begin to grow, they blossom into something so beautiful. I like to think of God's daughters that way. Once the seeds are planted within us (fully dedicating our lives to Christ + accepting our callings), we can blossom into everything God has called us to be. And if you're in your single season, this is the perfect time to blossom...

Scripture: "But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners." - Romans 5:8 NLT

Song Inspiration: Worth - Anthony Brown & group therAPy

So we incorporated flowers into the graphics----cool! But they couldn't be just any flowers. I had to use the flowers of love: Roses. The funny thing is, the Lord informed me that my flower of choice has a much deeper meaning than I anticipated.

Let's break it down, shall we?

Roses are not cheap! Especially when it comes to bouquets. (Hence the bouquet on the graphic.) Know your worth, Sis! This means that not just anyone can have you. Everyone isn't going to be able to "afford" you. It's time out for letting guys have access to you when they can't afford you. And by that, I mean this:

- Can he afford to treat you right? (And more importantly, will he treat you right?!)

- Can he afford to date/marry a woman that don't play when it comes to being about her Father's business?

- Can he afford to lead you and guide you like a husband should?

- Is he willing to accept that your relationship with God is worth so much more than the relationship you will have with each other?

I pray you realize I'm not talking specifically about finances here. I wanted to use the word 'afford' in this sense to help develop the idea that you are worth so much, Sister.

Because if a man decides he wants to date a "Woman of God", he better be prepared for what's to come. (And that's on godly standards.) In the last post, I talked about how single women are to be devoted to God and how her concerns are to be about the Lord's affairs (Corinthians 7:34). A lot of men in this world are not prepared for a godly woman. Especially one who is tapped into discernment. (Here's a pro tip to pass on to any guy who may need this: If she's Holy Ghost filled + she and God are super tight, please...PLEASE...don't even think about doing anything sneaky, cause she will find out...Holy Spirit will definitely let her know, okay?)

I will testify that I've dated guys I knew weren't for me. I was rushing to feel a love that couldn't even compare to the love that God has for me. Those guys could not afford to be connected to me. Some didn't even understand my devotion to God, and I'm glad I learned my worth in Jesus Christ, because now I know that when the time is right, my husband will find me and he'll be able to afford to court me.

My dear sisters, if you don't grasp anything else from this blog series, please understand that you are worth More Than Roses! You are worth more than what the world thinks you're worth. God sent His only son to die for you! (Isn't that amazing?!)

You are so special to God and I pray you never forget that. I pray you value yourself and cherish the fact that God loves you so! When you remember your worth, you can weed out the ones that are not for you. You understand what waiting on the Lord really means, too! (Waiting = Serving!) You understand that while you wait on Him, while you continue to serve Him, while you continue to worship Him, while you continue to stay connected to Him through devotion, He is working on your behalf and preparing a man that will understand just how much you are worth!

Sis, continue to delight yourself in the Lord, for He knows the desires of your heart! I'm here with you on this journey, so feel free to reach out if you need a sister to lean on. I love you so much!

Keep Blossoming,
